Do you think after the London Olympics?

They should keep part of the athletes village so it could be used for MPs accommodation instead of paying mortgage intrest or hotel bills we would save a fortune on expenses.No newT/Vs fridges ect
If this happened i wonder how many MPs within traveling distance would use this accommodation

How to choose vacation rentals in St John

‘So, where do I stay in St John’ – that’s a question we hear many tourists asking us as soon as they land here. The confusion is understandable, considering that the choice is wide enough to be almost overwhelming. But, think about it for a minute – it’s a GOOD thing that you have so many varieties to choose from. There’s something for everyone.

To keep things simple, let us divide vacation accommodation into two:

* Hotels

* Vacation rentals

Hotels are quite delightful in their own way – great food, wonderful service, round the clock assistance and fantastic amenities.

Unfortunately, all that pampering comes at a price.

So, if you decide that you’d rather make use of vacation rentals for your stay in St John, you’re spot on. See, you’d be cutting your expenses by half. Besides, you would be enjoying something different from your usual resort stay, which do tend to get a wee bit boring when you never have to leave the grounds and your every whim is catered to with the greatest alacrity.

So, let’s get to the meat – how can you spot the best vacation rentals in St John.

The first thing is that vacation rentals in St John are wide and varied. You have a large number of villas in the Cruz Bay as well as the Coral Bay. So, finding a vacation home of your choice is not difficult.

You will find every kind of villa, from quaint little cottages to luxurious opulent villas. You even have villas with servants, cooks and concierges. Keep in mind that your bill will also expand or contract accordingly. If you’re on a budget, you’ll do well to choose a modest accommodation that is located in the area of your choice. That way, you can enjoy to the max without having to spend money on commute.

Another reason you might want to consider vacation rentals while you are staying in St John is because of the food. While the cuisine in hotels is delectable, food is generally expensive in St John. That’s because everything has to be shipped inland. If you want to save yourself some money, you need to opt for cooking, at least some of the times.

Many vacation rentals in St John are located quite close to scenic views, breathtaking beaches and lush vegetation. You can choose a vacation rental depending on what you like to do. If you like exploring nature or hiking, stay somewhere near the National Park. Coral Bay is quite nearby, so you can still enjoy the beach in the evenings or when you feel like a dip.

Vacation rentals in St John have all the amenities you’d want while on a vacation. So, you won’t be starved for facilities or fun. Add to it the fact that you will be saving money and having the kind of vacation YOU want. Little wonder that most travelers prefer this kind of accommodation.

st john vacation villa - Into the Mystic is a gorgeous villa, available for rent, overlooking the beautiful St. John’s Coral Bay and US Virgin Islands.

Coming to Vancouver for 2010 Olympics?

I’ll be in Vancouver for the Olympics. I have been twice, but the first time I was a kid and the second was for a conference, which didn’t leave me much time to explore. I’m hoping to convince my hubby to relocate once he sees how gorgeous it is. ;)

Could someone knowledgeable about Vancouver tell me what I should not miss as a tourist, and what areas we might want to check out as potential places to live?

We’re not rich, but we’re comfortable (right now our family income is about ,000), but I am a student and hope to become an MD one day. So we could afford a decent, but not over the top extravagant area. I am more of the health conscious nature loving type, but wouldn’t mind a hip trendy area either. Anything close to a hospital where I could work would be nice. I also like to be involved in my community, volunteering at soup kitchens and fundraising for terminally ill children, etc. It sounds "Mother Teresa", but I really like to do those things since I grew up with sick and poor people. So I’d prefer a neighborhood with a friendly socially conscious atmosphere if possible.

Note: I’m no use if I’m dead, so please don’t advise me to LIVE on the Downtown East Side. ;)

Thanks for any and all help! :) Is the Skytrain still safe, and what does it cost now?

Is anyone thinking of attending the 2010 olympics in Vancouver BC Canada?

Do you google or check out services for disabled before making plans such as attending olympics? Do you trust people who say they do provide assistance?

I would strongly advise disabled people to NOT fly into the Vancouver airport.

The people working there are hostile to disabled people, refuse to provide any assistance and are nasty, rude and refuse to give any help.

If you can walk you arent disabled is how one person put it.

On an international flight, changing to domestic you have to walk for what feels like about 5 miles.

If you cant afford to pay a sky cap, (and they are only at baggage claim, after you have already walked about 4 miles with your carry on stuff and their basic fee is ) you are totally SOL
Yes they have electric carts, try getting one or someone to help you. I asked Air Canada to meet my flight to assist me. They didnt.

I asked four airport employees to assist me and they said it was their job. I asked them to call someone and they said it wasnt their job.

I finally made it to customer service and information and asked for assistance and they said it wasnt their job either.

Sorry flew in Boxing Day and I KNOW what I am talking about. I got NO assistance at all.

Except to be told to hire a sky cap if I couldnt manage my own baggage and wheel it to customs.

I am disabled, on a fixed income and cant afford a sky cap never mind what the walking did to me. I had to stop a dozen times and was in tears from pain when I FINALLY got out of the airport.
The ONLY person who tried to help was a West Jet employee and that was when I got to the airport entrance and I wasnt even flying West Jet. I flew JAL and was supposed to fly Air Canada.

Has the IOC and the organising committee set exact dates yet?
