How Does Hosting An Olympics Benefit A City or Region?
I’m sure it would generate revenue for the short term, but would that cover the cost of needed renovations, accommodations, arenas, etc. After which the city is left with empty new hotels, sports arenas and venues not to mention the clean up job before and certainly after.
People I know from Atlanta wish it had never been there. Poor people were scooped away so they wouldnt be seen, roads and buildings were created with no forethought in mind and the city has become a sh**hole since.
Living in Southern Wisconsin, I for one am glad that Chicago did not get the Olympics because Im sure WE would get the runoff.

I think hosting it there attracts more people to the area, so the revenue would be more than temporary, I think it could affect long-term revenue because a lot of people don’t care about anything but the name of where they live… some like to say they live in a certain area for conversation or whatever reason they may have.
Kinda like…
Person 1: I just got a place in (insert name of city of region here)
Person 2: Oh wow, that’s so cool because I heard they just hosted the olympics.
