How hard is it to get winter olympics tickets on the day of the event?

To anyone who has been to any Olympics: I am going to my first Olympics in Vancouver in 2010. The first wave of tickets go on sale next week, and I’m probably going to buy some then. But once I’m in Vancouver, how difficult is it to get tickets to an event on the fly? If I wake up one morning and really want to watch a curling event I don’t have a ticket for, are they hard to come by? And how does one go about doing that? Thanks in advance

in 1984 we bought our tickets in advance through a broker, I wouldn’t advise buying from a scalper, because of new security features added to tickets. If they do anything like the World Cup in 2006 they will have your name and maybe photo etched on them
